I’m an LA-based Food Cost + Strategic Sourcing Consultant helping food-driven businesses achieve financial sustainability + profitability. I work with restaurants, caterers, food trucks, online retailers, retail + wholesale brands throughout the US.

My career in food started as a volunteer for the Model Neighborhood Program farmer's markets in 2010. I went on to manage several of their markets until 2012, when I co-founded THE PRODUCE PROJECT, a pop-up market and delivery service that brought the best California produce, sustainable meat, dairy, grains and artisan-made goods to hundreds of individuals + families across greater Los Angeles each week. My relationships and the quality of the products we sourced led to me to joining HEIRLOOM LA as their Food Sourcing Manager in 2014. There I spearheaded the local and sustainable food purchasing program - creating sourcing standards, partnering with outstanding local distributors, developing streamlined ordering and receiving systems and implementing strategic cost + price changes that made significant impacts on an already high-quality sourcing program and to the company's bottom line.  In 2017 I founded SARAH DELEVAN CONSULTING as a means for helping food-driven businesses achieve their financial goals through effective food cost + sourcing strategies. 

To date I have helped launch businesses from San Francisco, CA to Kittery, ME, reduced client food costs by an average of 7%, helped a wide range of businesses increase profitability as much as $184,000 annually, built more custom tools that I can count and launched online workshops to provide ongoing learning + inspiration for good food businesses.
